Day-1: today I saw him for the first time. I don't know why I feel so connected. The moment I saw him; my heart, it felt like it's been filled with tons of air. Yeah! I know I'm exaggerating but I felt so. But he didn't see me. I wish I see him again.
After 2 days she will be coming down the stairs talking with her friend from her department and she'll see him coming from the entrance door towards the stairs and he'll glance at her for a second. She'll run to the place a bench under a tree where she writes her dairy every day. She opens her dairy with all her excitement and starts to write her dairy.
Day-4: I saw him again today, in my department. I think he's from the same department. But I never saw him. Gosh I'm so dumb. How can I not see him all these days? But today he saw me. Although it was just a glance, he saw me. Well that's enough. I wish he feel the same way as I do.
Next day she'll be walking with her friend outside her classroom corridor. And she'll see him standing outside a senior section. He'll wave at her and smile. But a girl comes from behind waving at him back. With an upset heart she'll go back to her place to write her daily dairy.
Day-5: I saw him again today. He was waving at me. Suddenly my heart it felt so excited. For that moment I really thought he was waving at me and I almost raised my hand. But Sushmitha came from behind. He was waving at her. Now a days I'm getting so greedy. Why would he wave and smile at me? But I'm happy. At least I got to know his name. When Sushmitha was waving she greeted him with his name. So it seems his name is YASH.
Wow I've started to like that name already. Anyways I've come to know one more thing he's my senior. So the good news is I get to see him almost every day.
She use to see him every day and use to write her dairy, Days passed by and her daily Dairy became her LOVE DAIRY. Because everything she wrote was just about him. One day she'll be sitting with her friends and chatting in lunch break.
Mounika: hey! Did you hear about Sushmitha and Yash?
She gets desperate and asks her,
Naina: Yash? What’s about them????
Harshitha: Don't you know they've been seeing each other. Everyone is talking about it.
Mounika: see Sushmi is coming let's just ask her.
Sushmitha: What were you guys thinking to ask me?
Naina: About you and Yash is that true? That you guys are in relation?
Sushmiha: yes everything you heard is true.
With a broken heart Naina walks out from her class holding her Dairy and tears rolling out she'll run to her place. Yash who was listening everything see her running with tears. And will go after her. She’ll sit on the bench and starts to write her Dairy.
Day-75: Today I didn't see him. I think there's no meaning in waiting for him. Why my heart is so aching so much. Why am I crying this hard for a stranger? Why did I bind an unknown relation with a stranger? Why? I....
Her tears drops fall on her dairy from her cheeks. And she breaks down and starts to cry. Meanwhile her friend calls her.
Mounika: hey Naina, it's time the buses are leaving hurry up I got your bag.
In that rush she won't see the dairy falling from her lap. Yash who's been watching everything takes the dairy with him.
Next day as soon as she comes to college she searches for her dairy. She'll return to her class after searching for it for an hour.and she'll hear her friends talking.
Harshitha: yes Yash was doing all the preparations he's gonna propose her now in the seminar hall.
Without thinking anything Naina runs to the seminar hall. She'll reach the hall and will try to push the door but she could clearly hear her heartbeat pounding so loud. Ignoring her heartbeat she'll push the door. As soon as she pushes him door dozens of balloons flew outside. The room was totally filled with balloons pushing away all the balloons from her way she goes in and she'll see Yash standing with red roses in his hands.
Yash: I saw you last year I felt the same way as you did for me, like the balloons filling my heart,
It was always you my heart searched for,
I made your friends as mine just to know about you...,
I can hear all day when people talk about you,
I never knew you felt the same,
I never knew the girl that I always loved cries for me so hard,
Now that I know I want to say what I feel for you...
He stands on his knees,
Whenever I see the moon your face strikes my mind...,
Whenever I walk lonely my heart longs your company....,
Whenever I touch the keypad my fingers feel like dialing your number....,
Whenever I experience something I get anxious till I share it with you....,
Whenever I sit alone my mind thinks about you...,
Whenever I'm ill my only reason to get well is you...,
Whenever I feel sad only thoughts that surround me are yours...,
Whenever I close my eyes I see your face and then I smile...
'Cause it's always been you in my ind and my heart,
I LOVE YOU NAINA.
Lost in her thoughts about her grandmother's condition, Naina found her seat and placed her cabin baggage before resting in her window seat. A few moments later, a little girl arrived holding her grandfather’s hand. She sat beside Naina in the middle seat while her grandfather sat beside her.
Looking at her, Naina smiled but she didn’t. Wondering as to what pain she was going through, Naina extended her hand by saying, “Hello little one! My name is Naina.”
She looked at her grandfather before cautiously shaking Naina’s hand. A moment later, she faintly whispered, “My name is Kreeti.”
Hoping to cheer her up, Naina offered, “Would you like to sit beside the window?”
A faint smile appeared on her face and soon enough, they swapped their seats. Looking at Naina, her grandfather said, “Thank you magalu. You saved me the trouble of persuading you.”
Before Naina could assure him it was not necessary, she heard, “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome onboard Flight AI 812 with service from Dubai to Mangalore. We are currently third in line for take-off and are expected to be in the air in approximately seven minutes. We ask that you please fasten your seatbelts at this time and secure all baggage underneath your seat or in the overhead compartments. We also ask that your seats and table trays are in the upright position for take-off. Please turn off all personal electronic devices, including laptops and cell phones. Smoking is prohibited for the duration of the flight. Thank you for choosing Air India Express Airlines. Enjoy your flight.”
As soon as the announcement was completed, Naina enquired, “Why is she sad? Doesn’t like to travel?”
Her grandfather replied, “I’ve lost my son and she lost both her parents in a road accident. I’m talking to my home and she doesn’t want to leave her parent’s place.”
Naina was heart-broken listening to him. While she turned to look at Kreeti as she peeped through the window, her grandfather continued, “I’m all she has.”
It took Naina a while to digest the information that this little one shall have to live all by herself. Leaning back in her chair, Naina placed her hand on Kreeti when the flight took off.
After the first round of refreshments was served, Naina heard, “Good afternoon passengers. This is your captain Aakash speaking. First I’d like to welcome everyone on Air India Express Flight AI 812. We are currently cruising at an altitude of 33,000 feet at an airspeed of 400 miles per hour. The time is 1:50 a.m. The weather looks good and with the tailwind on our side, we are expecting to land in Mangalore approximately fifteen minutes ahead of schedule. The weather in Dubai is cloudy a high of 31 degrees celsius. If the weather cooperates we should get a great view of the city as we descend. The cabin crew will be coming around shortly to offer you dinner. I’ll talk to you again before we reach our destination. Until then, sit back, relax and enjoy the rest of the flight.”
The moment she heard relax, she couldn’t help but remember her grandmother. There wasn’t even one person from her family to take care of her. She continues to stay in India for no reason and as the years go by, she is getting weaker and weaker.
For good or bad, Naina decided to take her back with her as soon as she recovers from her sickness this time. It was about time she started staying with them and since Naina’s mother is going to retire, they can make the best of their time.
Turning to look at Kreeti to see what was doing, Naina could see tears in her eyes. Hoping to help, Naina asked her, “Is everything fine little one?”
She didn’t answer. Listening to Naina, her grandfather asked the same question. This time, she replied, “I don’t wish to leave home. Let’s go back, grandpa.”
At such a young age, children usually cry so loud but she didn’t. Naina couldn’t help but think that Kreeti was hiding her pain. She could also observe how Kreeti’s grandfather couldn’t help in any way. It was evident in his tone that he was sunken in sorrow when he mentioned, “We are going to a better place mom’magalu and we will return soon.”
Naina could see that Kreeti knew her grandfather’s words were a lie but she just didn’t say it out loud. Looking at her grey eyes, Naina wiped her tears while saying, “You have beautiful eyes Kreeti. Tears diminish their beauty.”
In sheer disappointment, Kreeti replied, “My mom used to say that... I miss her.”
Naina couldn’t help but control my tears. What could she say?
Meanwhile, Kreeti continued by asking, “Will I ever meet them? Will they watch over me?”
Looking at the black clouds, Naina replied, “I’m uncertain if they will return Kreeti but they will always be watching you.”
Her eyes widened as Naina continued, “Out of the billions of stars in this universe your parents are two brightest stars. No matter what happens, they will always be watching you.”
Holding her little hand, Naina mentioned, “They will be your guide and light your way in the darkness.”
Kreeti just looked at Naina. For no reason, it felt as if she believed Naina. Without saying another word, she put her headphones and started listening to songs.
A few minutes later, Naina and Kreeti ate dinner following which Kreeti she fell asleep. Leaning in my chair, Naina recalled her grandmother’s words, “Why don’t you come back and stay in India? You have enough wealth. What more could you seek if not home?”
Unnoticingly, Naina fell asleep too and woke up to the announcement that the flight has reached Mangalore. The sun was waking up as the plane landed. When it was landing, the jerk was so hard making most passengers hurt themselves. Within no time, Naina and Kreeti were devoured in flames.
Resting on a bench after playing badminton for a while, I was looking at a guy playing with a child. Meanwhile, Archana sipped water and pulled out four cups she made that afternoon from her pocket. Placing her fingers beneath the four cups, she asked, “Reliving our school days. Choose a color darling. Red, blue, green or yellow?”
Observing the boy’s plain yellow shirt, I replied, “Yellow.”
Both of them looked so adorable. Meanwhile, my partner spelled “Y-E-L-L-O-W” before asking, “Pick a number in 3, 4, 7 and 8.”
Honestly, I didn’t want to play four cups. So I turned to Archana to ask her if we could go shopping since it was hardly 5 p.m.
Before I spoke a word, I felt someone was pulling my kurta. Turning my head, I found the same cute girl with a red rose in her little hand standing before me.
Looking at me, she stretched her hand giving me the rose. Taking the rose, I enquired, “Who gave it to you sweetling?”
She just turned to look at the boy and when I looked at him, he was none other than Aadi.
But before I could rush to him, Archana questioned again, “Oye! Choose a color. Red, blue, green or yellow?” and I realized we were still on the bench and the boy and girl were playing in the same place as they were a few minutes ago.
With a sense of disappointment, I replied, “Yellow.”
Listening to response, Archana spelled “Y-E-L-L-O-W” while moving the four cups.
Following that, she asked, “Choose a number in 3, 4, 7 and 8.”
I replied, “Four” and she spelled “F-O-U-R” while moving the four cups again before mentioning, “The same numbers again.”
Without a moment of thought, I replied, “Four.”
She unfolded the paper and read, “Meeting your... loved one.”
I smiled when I heard her. Meeting him? That’s what I always dream about every day. He was sweet, responsible and most of all, he understood me. For me, that meant everything.
Looking at me Archana stayed silent. She understood I was living my memories. Leaning back on the bench, I looked at the light blue cloudless sky remembering the most regrettable question of my entire life.
“What if I’m dead Aadi?” I asked him after we felt each other for the first time.
He was silent for a moment before saying, “Then at least we would have been together until the end.”
But it was him I lost. I couldn’t remember anything after I was told that he was hit by a truck while driving his car.
It’s been two years now but I still keep seeing him. Holding my hand, Archana whispered, “I’m sorry darling.”
I’m willing to pay any price to earn him back but what happened cannot be undone. I’m always told to move on as life must keep going but life has little meaning if you don’t have a loved one holding your hand. I don’t believe I will find another who could come close to the way Aadi loved me. Maybe I’m paying the price for having found true love way too early in my life.

It was quite a busy day. I didn't get to study all day and exams were near so I thought of studying a bit. I was studying seriously. Though my house is beside the highway it was so calm and peaceful. As people say it was pin drop silence. I was studying and then suddenly I could hear a sound, " tung tung tung." I ignored and started studying again. That sound was increasing, " tung tung tung tung tung tung." The volume was increasing more and more that I just couldn't ignore it. " Tung tung tung tung tung tung tung tung........ "
I started feeling eerie, and yes of course scary. I stood up. I was literally shivering. My heart beat was increasing exponentially with increase in the volume of that " tung tung tung...." I walked forward though it's winter and that increasing tung tung sound was making me sweat. Besides this sound, I could hear another sound. "Tick tock tick tock tick tock......" Yes indeed it was the sound of clock and it was 12 pm. Oops no it was midnight 12 am. When I saw the clock, my heart just skipped a beat because I heard from my mother that ghosts always roam from midnight 12:00am-3:00am.
Now what? It's obvious yaar!!!! My heart started to beat faster.
I started getting Goosebumps and all the “Episodes of Goosebumps” were revolving in my mind. “Tung tung tung tung tung tung....!" "Oh my god this sound why is it increasing??? “ I thought to myself. Then I observed that sound was coming from my room. It was... it was... oh shittttttttt." While studying whenever I feel drowsy, I takeout my iron hair band and I shake it so fast and hard that it makes sound. Yes it makes that tung tung sound but I'm here in hall and there's no one else in house.
“Who on earth can make that sound?” I started moving towards my room and it was dark. The door was half open and I couldn't see anything but I could clearly hear the banging sound of my hair band. I raised my hand and touched my head," oh my holy god mother what have I done? "I cursed myself. Earlier in the day while I was going to college in auto, the auto stopped suddenly. Driver said everything was fine but he doesn't know why it broke down. As I was getting late, I gave him money and I was looking for another auto. I walked and walked and then I realized something weird. There was no one around, not even a vehicle all I can see is thick bushy trees on both sides of road. I took out my mobile and there it goes: NO SIGNAL. After 30 minutes of walking, I heard a sound of scooter. I never felt so happy to hear that annoying sound of scooter. I turned back to see a man, a woman holding a baby. They saw me and the woman told the man something and the man stopped his scooter. They came near me and asked,
Man: What happened?
Me: I was going to college in auto and it broke down so I was walking ahead but I didn't find any auto.
Man: Oh it's fine then. Aruna you and baby stay with her and I'll get an auto for her. The stand must be near.
Me: Oh that's so sweet of you. Thank you so much sir.
The women smiled at me and the man rode off on his scooter. The kid was continuously smiling at me and stretching his hands towards me. His mom gave him to me so I took him in my arms. He was a bit heavy but so cute. He took my hair band from my hair forcefully. I wonder how he took it easily. He was just a baby. I screamed, "Ouch ". His mother took him back and he was playing with my hair band just as I do. Meanwhile I was setting my hair and tied a pony and that man came with auto. I felt so happy I got into the auto and thanked the couple. Auto started and then bang.
Don't know how but a lorry came from nowhere and hit the scooter and in no time all the 3 were dead. Yes the baby too. All I could remember is, that baby making tung tung sound with my hair band. That sound was echoing in my ears. Was it that sound that's echoing in my ears or anything else?
"Kiiiiiii kiiiiiiiiii kiiiiiiiii ." Oh god! Now who's pressing the calling bell? I went back and opened the door. It was my mom. She and my neighbors went to a function out of town. And all of them came now.
Mom: What happened? Why are you sweating?
Me: Some sounds were coming from my room.
Mom: What sounds?
Me: My hair band banging sound.
She directly went to my room and switched on the lights.
I went with her and...
but.. It’s impossible... how did it come here. I saw my hair band. It was on ground. But last time I saw it in that kid's hand. And I didn't have another band. How was it possible?
My mom didn't trust me. She said maybe it's the night guard who bangs the gates with his stick.
And I never heard that sound again. Still I wonder was it real, how it happened? Well Sometimes some questions don't have any answers. Right?
