Rhythmically, through his poem “To Be A Writer”, poet Prakhyat Chatla expresses his desire to be a writer while explaining his reasons as to why he hasn’t succeeded in his pursuit. He says the goal of being a writer is neither to impress nor to get credit but only to be remembered as an artist forever. Being a writer has always been my desire, But unfortunately, so far it has only filled me with ire! I know I can do it, there’s not just a spark, but a fire! I’m not writing just to impress the girls or some sire, Many think that it is from the girl that I inspire! Well guys, I won’t stoop so low, I aim much higher! I know you may think, this guy’s a big liar! You don’t know half of the things I aspire! I want to be remembered forever, but not when in a mire, But every single second during which you respire! I want to be known as the writer who will never tire, To hell with it! I don’t even wish to retire! I want my fame to be as high as a spire, Hopefully just to see me, people don’t have to hang from a wire! These poems should be in every book, every timeline, every flyer! These are the things which I want to wear as my attire, Hey! I’m being honest. Don’t think this is a satire.
