Introduction to “Omniseeker”

7/1/2022

Filled with an insane desire to meet the devil, a middle-aged man nicknamed Omniseeker is suggested to visit a place called the Child’s Wail. A fancy name for a burnt orphanage. For once, it is not a hoax.

“Omniseeker” by R. S. Chintalapati explores the story of a deviously desired man who meets a bitter end seeking a being that is nothing more than a side within mortals.

Introduction to “The Stance”

7/11/2021

As so-called grown-ups, most of us build expectations on ourselves filled with presumptions about our parents and friends. In the pursuit of living up to them, we not only forget to live as we wish or should but get carried away doing more than anything needed or expected.

“The Stance” by Gayatri Sharma explores the story of a girl who is filled in such a presumptuous thought-process that it takes her to reach the very end of the ride to realise it was in reality never expected of her.

Introduction to “Passing Clouds”

21/9/2021

Many of us lose our friends and family every passing day, but not all of us try to completely wipe our memories clean, considering most of them to be nothing more than passing clouds, in fear of being sunk in sorrow. Rather, we cherish our encounters, encapsulate our emotions and remember them.

“Passing Clouds” by Chethana Nagulapalli shows how terribly a few of us are trying our best to wipe our memories clean in the pursuit of keeping ourselves happy and what it means when one realises the insignificance of some relationships.

Introduction to “A Desolate Soul”

7/9/2021

It is often claimed that life is tough and no matter how hard things get, we should keep fighting. Individuals are expected to fight no matter the situation. Neither the factors that support a person to fight nor the reasons for an individual to not fight aren’t discussed. A couple of winners are cited while thousands of failures are forgotten.

“A Desolate Soul” by Nikhila Kotni is one such forgotten story of a fragile soul who couldn’t live with her circumstances. Filled with sorrow, the story shows how the members we look up to mean so much when facing life turning situations and how life seems meaningless when we lack the strength and are abused by the very people we look up to.

Introduction to “Noor”

14/8/2021

During the medieval era in India, an architect named Haider and a commoner named Noor fall in love. Even when their religion, era and circumstances obstruct them to be husband and wife, they never give in to those constructs and passionately care for each other until their Emperor commissions Haider to build him a monument of an original design that the world would be impressed with forever.

Read Santhosh Annabattula’s short story “Noor” to know how passionately loving someone could dictate one’s thoughts, pain and profession so much so that they are empowered unlike anyone else.
