I woke up as my smartwatch vibrated indicating the alarm. I tried double tapping it in an attempt to turn it off but my effort didn’t payback. Giving up, I woke up and sleepwalked to the window near my bed. The sound of water dripping from clouds felt refreshing as the cold breeze tickled me. I wished it was weekend today so that I could stay back and enjoy these little pleasures; the earthy smell of rain, the rhythmic pitter-patters with a cup of hot coffee.
Like a rejection of my wish, a sudden shrill of Rihanna’s ‘Work’ came from my phone. Peering towards the phone, I hesitantly picked up Arun’s wakeup call.
“You woke up buddy?” he asked.
While I replied, “Yes.”
He continued, “Okay, start early then! It’s raining and you could get late due to a surge in traffic. See you at the office.”
Before I could even respond, he had hung up.
I quickly rushed to the main door only to realize that the road in front of our porch is fully covered with water. I collected the newspaper which was dropped outside the main door and rushed to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.
The kitchen was all messy with a lot of unwashed utensils in the sink. I cursed myself for skipping the task of cleaning the dishes last night. Letting them wait a little while longer, I went to Ritu’s room to check if she had woken up.
As soon as I entered her room, I could see her sleeping in her minion printed night suit while holding her new teddy bear, with her loose curly hair. Looking around, I could see all her toys and Peppa Pig books lying on the floor.
After arranging all of her books in a two feet height rack and placing her toys in the mesh-hanger, I could see the Sun paying a visit after the early morning showers. In an attempt to not let the rays disturb Ritu, I closed the curtains in her room and I hoped to ensure that I did not make noise. To my disappointment as soon as I turned around after closing the curtain, I could see Ritu sitting on her bed, with a puzzled expression. Taking her in my arms, I asked while caressing her forehead, “Why did my Ritu wake up early today?”
She closed her eyes and placed her head on my shoulder. There was no reply and I was concerned. Her gloomy face said something was wrong and as usual, I took her to the garden where she spent most of her time playing; with a hope that it might boost her mood.
As we stepped out to walk into the wet garden, Ritu turned to me before saying, “Momma, I saw...”
Holding her face between my hands, I curiously asked, “My sweetling, what is it?”
As I felt her cold face, Ritu replied, “I saw Papa but when I opened my eyes, he is not by my side. Why is he not beside me?”
While I was bereft of speech, she said, “I am bored without him.”
It was just a week ago that her dad had left for his onsite project and Ritu was already missing him. I cursed myself for insisting that he signed the new project agreement. Had I anticipated the impact it would have on our baby girl, I wouldn’t have. I walked back home to video-call him. After all, a sleepless night for his daughter will be worth it.
I wish the next few weeks roll by soon and Ritu hugs her favourite teddy as soon as possible.
“It is dark on the new moon night and I am getting down along with my team from one of the four helicopters to set forth on our mission. The illuminating symbol of an eagle on our shoulders is radiating and our mission is to kill the militants who ambushed and killed at least a dozen civilians- three days ago.
I was one amongst the troop who set forth on an adventure that demands life as it’s the price and coincidentally, this is my first time and I am exactly like a docile lamb amidst the seniors in the troop.
To begin with, it all started a few days ago when a senior commander started recruiting freshers into assault troops. I definitely did not want to be a recruit but sometimes passing your tests pays off. Post recruitment, the first instruction I received was to not tell my family about the mission and hours later, the commander walked towards me and asked, “Why do you think I recruited you despite an average performance?”
While I stammered searching for words, the commander replied, “A soldier who sweats more in practice will bleed less in war and you are one of the few guys who is hell-bent on practice.”
The commander continued, “Most of my men are seasoned. I hope you live up to my expectations!”
I got onto one of the four helicopters and the troops were divided into four smaller groups. None of us knew how many of us would come back alive, all that matters is killing some militants on the orders received and perhaps no higher authority ever understood that killing such idiots would not get them anything than a few more attacks in retaliation.
The surprise factor gave our troops a remarkable advantage. We walked in the jungle, camouflaging, using night vision devices and approaching our targets. Even the militants were alert and as soon as our troops started firing shots, their guards also started firing ruthlessly.
I shot every militant I encountered till they died gifting them a painless death as I felt the whole mission as an act of cowardice because killing people who were sleeping and their guards who are half asleep is worse. On the contrary, I also knew that innocents were killed by these very men.
After killing a few members I suddenly turned to find myself in front of a militant’s gun. He shot me straight in my chest and never in my life did I feel the time passing so slow.
All I remember is the cute face of my three-year-old daughter, a non-complaining wife and my parents who were always proud of me. I will miss you Anu!”
As soon as the sun rose the dead were taken and the government declared nine of their soldiers died in the operation. While my family wept over my father’s grave, his last recording was hidden by the agency and within the next two days, there was another attack. In this unending cycle of attacks, innocents and soldiers die alike but peace is never an option that would be preferred.
Post Script: This is the last recording of my father Akash Patnaik during his fight in the war and it was given to my mother a few years later after the mission details were revealed and adding to it is my writing in the last paragraph of what happened the following day - Anushka Patnaik.
Naina looked into his eyes as he said, “I love you too.”
She couldn’t believe it. She couldn’t believe that he has accepted her relation even after being in a relationship with Jayshree for three years.
Moving forward, Nandan was about to kiss her when Naina woke up. She could only feel the Sun’s kiss and beside her was Nanda asleep. Sitting up on the bed, Naina wondered, “Why is he getting late every day?”
It was about 4 a.m. when she fell asleep after waiting for him for hours. Walking to the kitchen, Naina made coffee and settled on the couch.
Sipping her warm black coffee, Naina recalled Jayshree shouting, “I trusted you! You slut!” and Naina just stood before her in silence while her friends held Jayshree back.
As she was reliving her past, the alarm in the bedroom beeped walking her Nandan. Forcing himself out of bed, Nandan took his mobile and reached the common room.
Looking at his wife, he asked, “Could you make me some coffee? I have to rush to the office.”
Looking at him, Naina questioned, “Where were you yesterday night?”
Without a second thought, Nandan replied, “Finding peace elsewhere. If you’re done with your interrogation. Can I get some coffee?”
With his response, Naina sat in stunned silence gawking at him. Hating himself for speaking so recklessly, Nandan walked towards her as he said, “I’m sorry! I truly am! Didn’t get enough sleep…”
Naina didn’t believe him even for a moment. After he hugged and kissed her, she made him coffee and lunch. The day was pretty much boring as it always is for her, Naina wrote her diary as always hoping to let go of her fears by expressing them.
When the clock ticked at midnight. Naina messaged Nandan but didn’t get a response. At 2 a.m. when she called him, he was just busy and at 4 a.m. she couldn’t help but recall Jayshree shouting at her, “Someday a prettier slut shall overtake him from you! Just wait and watch!” as she slid on the bed.
There wouldn’t be a day she doesn’t recall Jayshree’s words and without eating her dinner, Naina shuts her eyes before tears slid.
Mr P woke up surprised listening to the nine o’clock bell from the college clock. As always, his roommate had already left. It didn’t matter which day it was, his roommate would leave without bothering to wake him up.
In the past, Mr. P even missed a quiz because he depended on him. Neither could Mr. P blame his roommate or could he even find another roommate considering how everything hated his hygiene.
Getting down from his untidy bed. Mr. P went to the common washroom, only to find all three sinks being used. He waited for a while but everyone seemed to be taking their own time.
Not intending to be too late, Mr. P smelt himself before starting to walk to the canteen. He felt a shower wasn’t needed for today and a notebook is of no use for him in his class.
The last time he wrote notes, it was two semesters ago and it was the last time he even tried to pay attention and achieve something in his life.
Upon reaching the canteen, Mr. P stood at the end of a long queue of hungry and frustrated young men. On the menu board, it was written Poha. This was his favorite breakfast made of flattened rice flakes and spices. While he moved forward in the queue, Mr. P realized he was the last member of the queue.
When he finally reached the counter, the server walked away with the small amount of Poha left. Though Mr. P shouted, the server didn’t even bother to stop.
Frustrated, Mr. P walked to his classroom cursing the server. Settling down in the last bench where he was all alone, Mr. P looked around at his classmates. He thought, “This day wouldn’t have been possible. If it wasn’t for my failure in choosing the right drug.”
A little while later after the professor entered, she entered the class with two of her friends. They settled down in the row before him. While wondering if she would ever sit beside him, Mr. P couldn’t help but say to himself, “I bet she doesn’t even know I exist.”
Looking at the empty seat next to her, Mr. P wondered, “Can I sit beside her?”
As he stood up when the professor was writing something on the board, Mr. P almost reached the end of his destination before another guy took the seat.
Looking at the guy, Mr. P thought, “There he is. I was wondering how could she stay away from him.”
For a year now, Mr. P wished to muster some courage and ask her for a date but she never even noticed him. It felt like, for her, he was a part of the shadows.
After the class was completed, Mr. P felt too tired to eat lunch. So he decided to just have some tea before returning to his room to sleep.
Even this time, the canteen was so crowded that Mr. P simply gave up and started traveling back to his room. He couldn’t help but think, “I’m a failure amongst achievers and I cannot meet my parents to tell them the truth.”
As he climbed the stairs, Mr. P thought, “I even failed at giving up. I’m worse than I thought.”
When he walked to his room, he realized, he left the door open when he was leaving. As Mr. P walked into his room, he could see his body still on the bed.
In just a moment, Mr. P realized the drugs he took to kill himself did work and it was his thoughts that were still stuck in his monotonous lifestyle even after he lost his mortal form.
She looks so delicious in those shorts and the crop top, her milky white skin glistening in the moonlight like an angel. Every inch of her exposed skin is asking me to touch and play with her. One look at her clothes and anyone can tell that she is asking for it.
The fact that she is walking in the streets alone after nine is perfect proof. It is my duty to give her what she desires. After all, she is asking for it, isn’t she? I advance towards her slowly, moving stealthily in the shadows. I have to pounce on her and take her by surprise, just like how they show in the movies.
But unlike the movies, even the most foolish person won’t come to rescue her. Even they know that she wants it. She must have fantasized about this late at nights. After all, she is asking for it, isn’t she?
Why is she is screaming under my weight? Why is she pushing me off that amazing body of hers? Why is she pleading for my mercy while trying to punch me in my gut? Alas, I am far too strong for her. Moreover, I know that these protests and struggles are nothing but pretence. Girls like her enjoy it as much as we do, perhaps more, I have been told. I love giving them what they want. I feel like it’s my duty. After all, she is asking for it, isn’t she?
I look down at her shivering body after I was done and believe me there are many girls like her in our world always asking for it. We must satisfy all of them.
As I stood up, my phone in my pocket rang. I took it out and had seen my mother’s face blinking on the screen. Answering the call, I asked, slightly worried, “Hello, mom, what is it?”
Usually, she never calls at this time.
“Rahul! Some guy... some guy molested Jia at the nightclub...” I hear her sobbing on the other side.
I feel the earth tremble beneath my feet. How? How could someone do this to my little sister?
A few days later, I sat on the back row of the partially filled courtroom. The boy standing at the defendant’s stand is probably a rich spoiled brat in his late twenties.
The public prosecutor asked, “Mr Udit Kapoor, what compelled you to molest Ms Jia Makheeja?”
“I didn’t do anything against her will! Believe me, Your Honor!” he says, looking at the judge.
He shouted, “Jia... Jia! was asking for it!”
I felt the world collapse around me as a scream made its way out of my throat.
While I was walking in the park located near my home as I do every evening, I saw a seven years old boy resting on a bench dissolved in his thoughts.
He looked worried, so I approached him before asking, “What is your name, son and is everything alright?”
Looking at me, he smiled before responding, “My name is Rahul sir and everything is alright. I’m just waiting for my mother.”
I couldn’t help but ask, “You’re waiting for your mother in this park?”
The boy nodded before stating, “She instructed me to wait here before she would return from her work and then we planned to go shopping.”
Sitting beside him, I said “Don’t you worry. Maybe she is stuck with work today. You could go shopping tomorrow.”
Now the boy’s face turned black. In a disappointing tone, he confessed, “Tomorrow is my third birthday.”
I was certain he was mistaken but the boy explained, “I was born on the 29th of February. So I only celebrate birthdays once every four years.”
Comprehending his calculation, I replied, “That’s why tomorrow is your third birthday.”
He blushed and it felt like his sadness disappeared for a moment. Wanting to know, I asked him “So what do you expect on your third birthday?”
After a moment of thought, he said, “I want to celebrate with my friends. I want it to be as memorable as possible.”
For a moment both of us looked at each other before I asked him, “Don’t you feel bad that you could only celebrate your birthday once every four years?”
Without a moment of hesitation, he stated, “No one can help it as my mother says.”
I loved what he just said. Meanwhile, he continued, “I feel special wearing that white dress along with my new pair of shoes, belt, watch and wallet.”
I reminded him, “Your dream would be fulfilled. Anon, your mother will be here and you will get to buy all of them.”
I could see his excitement mounting up and intending to keep him occupied, I asked, “So what do you do on your birthday?”
The boy took a deep breath before saying, “I pray to God. Wear new clothes, shoes and everything. Distribute chocolates to my friends and sweets to me teachers. Invite my friends to my birthday party. The rest of my time, I eat my mother’s delicious food and play with my dad after I devour the cake he brought me too.”
I felt bad for him because he gets to celebrate his birthday only once every four years. Meanwhile, the boy asked me, “Do you celebrate your birthday?”
To which I honestly didn’t want to lie. So I told him, “I used to in the past but now I no longer do. However, when I used to celebrate, I did it every year.”
The boy’s flame glowed. He asked me curiously, “How did you celebrate your birthday?”
I couldn’t remember what I did. So instead of answering, I asked him, “Why don’t you celebrate your birthday on 28th February for non-leap years?”
Looking on the ground he answered, “My father still buys me a cake and my mother feeds me sweets but there is no party during those years.”
I felt happy since he was content with what they gave him. Finally, his mother did arrive and I bid him goodbye as she took him shopping.
Two days later, I met the boy in the same place during my evening walk. Walking towards him, I wished, “Belated Happy Birthday son! Couldn’t wish you in the last two days due to the heavy rain. How did you enjoy your birthday?”
Dejected, he replied, “Due to rain, my school declared a holiday and my friends didn’t attend my birthday party!”
I suggested, “You could celebrate any day after your birthday now that the climate is favorable.”
To which he was totally unwilling. Looking at me, he even stated, “I rather wait four more years!”
On a sunny Sunday afternoon after the morning service, the church hall door creaked as a man with shabby clothes and piercings all over the body walked down the aisle towards the confessional.
The priest observing the person entering the confessional rushes to the other side of it. Both of them occupy their seats at once.
In a hoarse voice, the stranger said, “Father, I have come to confess sins.”
Leaning his ear towards the white curtain that was separating them, the priest mentioned, “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper child but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.”
The stranger whispered, “I want to kill a man who has destroyed my life.”
Taking a deep breath, the priest quizzed, “And what will you achieve of it?”
After a moment of silence, the priest continued, “All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.”
The stranger smirked before saying, “There was no law when my drunk father struck my mother after being questioned about his activities. Trust me, father. He didn’t perish.”
The priest for the first time turned to look at the stranger. Meanwhile, the stranger continued, “He used to hold my mother by her long hair and dash her forehead against the wall if not that, his belt was his second choice.”
As soon as the stranger concluded the line, he pulled out a dagger and rushed it through the curtain. With his intensity, the sharp dagger slid through the silk curtain within no time and ran into the priest’s throat.
As the priest’s voice echoed in the empty church, the stranger said, “Even before his son, my father wouldn’t hesitate to hurt my mother. He didn’t bother about it I suppose.”
As the priest crashed on the floor spitting out blood and leading his last moments, the stranger walked out of his cabin and reached the other side.
Looking at the dying man, “However before long, my mother chalked out a plan to end her horrible torture and stabbed him three times on his chest as soon as he returned home drunk.”
As he said his sentence, the stranger could see the priest was dead. He didn’t wink his eyes any longer and kneeling on the floor, the stranger said, “She, unfortunately, stabbed him on his chest unlike me going for the throat.”
Extending his hand, the stranger closed the priest’s eyes before stating, “Sleep well, father. At last for all of the sufferings you have gifted me, you deserve this.”
Meanwhile, another priest walked into the hall to find his brother lying dead. He rushed back to the chamber and called the police.
Observing another priest, the stranger shouted, “Don’t worry priest. My father sought redemption after surviving the stabbing.”
After a moment of silence, the stranger mentioned, “I just gave him what he was seeking. Years after I gave my mother what she was seeking.”
The priest behind a locked door shouted, “You’re a sinner and you will be prosecuted by law!”
With a smile on his face, the stranger confessed, “Hunting my mother for what she did to me gave the law the right to prosecute me for years now priest. I don’t think I’m an alien to this concept.”
With him finishing his sentence, two policemen with revolvers in their hands stormed in. Looking at them, the stranger said, “It was the law that told me my father was alive and it was them that made me decide to pay a visit after I was released.”
Though I never saw him before, I felt as if I had known him since childhood. People feel usual hearing this but it is the best experience if you found anyone who occupies your heart devoid of your consent. I felt the same with him. The most memorable moment in my life was when I saw him for the first time, because I deem that I am a typical girl who never likes anyone just by first sight however he broke my tag.
Everyday I used to admire him without his notice. It is a universal assumption that boys are the only one who run behind their loved ones but I would say it’s not entirely true as even girls do the same thing. The only difference is that boys do noticing but girls pretend as if they don’t, mostly for any reason. You are my first thought in the morning and last thought before dusk and you are almost in every thought in between. Though I thought we were friends you just treated me just like a classmate. As for me, I started treating you with lot of admiration more than anyone else I know.
I started caring for you so much that I never even cared about myself. To be honest, I am addicted to you. I just cared for you like a mother and you’re my smile, frown, wrong, right and happiness. I don’t care about your past or about you’re ex-girlfriend. All I want is to be you from now and forever. Though you hurt my concern about you many times I still never stop caring for you just because I consider you being my other half. When I used to sing, you are the one who dwell in my thoughts.
I know the fact that you know how much I love you. I felt you like a responsibility but you used to date girls whom you like. I fought with you for silly reasons because I was missing you very badly. Later I concluded that I gave my heart to a heartless person who never understood me in life, why won’t you look back and see how much I mean it? You are going behind a girl who doesn’t even care about you? Why won’t you look at the girl who wants to share her life? And now I know that is how love works.
Now I understood that I should go on with my life. Even though it’s tearing me up inside, I knew I should move on.
Though my love was daily speaking to his girlfriend he felt something is incomplete in their relation. Over time he couldn’t even feel comfortable with her. Later he realized the truth that he is only liking her but not loving her. He started missing the days I loved and cared for him and decided to get me back into his life.
The very next day while I was coming home I saw him waiting for me. I was shocked seeing him approaching me. My heart beat raised and eyes stopped blinking and started staring at him. It was around 7 pm; and the cold breeze was a perfect climate. The first words were “I am sorry for all that has happened! I don’t want to lose you.”
I understood that he realized. Later he bent on his knees, held my hand and took a beautiful ring from his pocket and proposed to me saying “With nature being our witness I hereby ask you. Will you marry me?”
I just hugged him so tightly and cried. That moment all my pain totally vanished and that proposal made me to be reborn again. Simultaneously he cried hugging me back. Until now, this was the best moment of my life. That very moment I decided to give my best to him. I knew that love is the other name of freedom and I just loved him the way he was.
I gave him my best support and stood beside him in all situations. In this journey, I have learnt that God gives us what we want but he shall make you wait until there would be a fitting time.
Aparna spent most of her time before textbooks but she never scored good in her examinations. Maybe because she never learnt but only tried to memorize and her technique always made her upset.
After her first semester result dropped, in her second year of bachelors, Aparna came home and just dropped her college bag and fell on her bed.
Observing her, Aparna’s mother made some tea before coming to her and sitting beside her. Passing her cup of tea, she asked, “If something is destined to reach you, it will! Even if it is beneath the ocean. On the otherhand, if it is not destined to reach you, it won’t even if it is between your lips!”
As her daughter sipped, Aparna’s mother asked, “Now tell me. Do you think you were destined to earn a good score?”
Aparna knew the answer. So she stayed silent and finished her tea. Without saying a word, Aparna took off her shoes and fell asleep. Observing her, Aparna’s mother didn’t say a word too.
As soon as she closed her eyes, Aparna could see a white dot floating in all darkness. There wasn’t anything except for this and as Aparna stared at the floating dot in wonder, she heard a voice saying, “Do you wish for something child?”
Recalling her mother’s words, Aparna replied, “Everything seemed to be already destined. What good is me asking a wish?”
After a moment of silence, she heard the voice reply, “Some things are bound to happen in-order to build an indivudual but not everything is pre-written child. So by asking me, you might get a few of your wishes fulfilled.”
Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to wait for but to rather achieve. Failure is not the opposite of success, It is a part of it. Never let yourself down in adversity, obstacles are just small deviating paths. Accept everything yourself in your life. A setback just sets you up for a comeback. We all fail at some things but we aren’t failures unless we give up. We cannot change what happened yesterday, but we can control what happens today. Things may not always go your way but you are free to choose how to reach your destination. Once you choose hope, anything is possible.
Look for the good in the bad as no matter how bad things get, as it is bound to get from good to better. The mind is everything and what you think is what you become. Whatever may happen in your life, accept it with your whole heart, either good or bad. What we dwell on is who we become. We are creating our lives through our thoughts and feelings, so you cannot hold yourself responsible for someone else’s happiness.
It is impossible for you to be responsible for anybody else, because you cannot jump inside someone else’s mind and think or feel for them. Focus on your joy and be an inspiration to everyone around you. Make your vision so clear that your fears become irrelevant. When you know exactly what you want to be or do, everything else becomes irrelevant. Your fears won’t stop you, the opinions of others won’t bother you and failure won’t chase you.
Visualize the life you want daily and don’t let anything get in your way as you work to make your dreams a reality. Make a change if you aren’t happy with how things are going. The only thing constant in life is change. None can live your life for you. If you want something, go get it. If you want to do something, go do it. You can’t control the circumstances you were born into but you, for sure can change your outcome.
Everything starts with your thoughts. Your thoughts become your actions; it’s the law of nature. Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve. Spend at least five minutes everyday visualizing yourself accomplishing your goals. Visualize having things you want and the life you desire. A great vision for yourself will change your life. Look for positivity in every situation. Some may be harder to find but do your best to see the good in everything.
You’ll thank yourself in the end and save yourself from lots of stress. Always focus on how far you’ve come and keep going until you reach your final destination. Stay focused and stay persistent and never quit no matter how any obstacles you face. Never, ever give-up. Be grateful for what you already have or you will never get what you want. Gratitude creates abundance. Complaining creates poverty. This is the key to a happy, successful and peaceful life.”
After listening to everything Aparna woke up. She thought of what God just told him and started her new day with a new hope. She understood that a wish is worth asking only when one has a burning desire within him.
The kingdom of Glewn was perhaps the only kingdom in the world ruled by twins. Unable to decide whom to give his kingdom to rule King Argus gave his kingdom to both his sons named Arian and Anthony.
Anthony was ambitious and wanted to conquer the whole world but he well knew that he would not be able to conquer the whole with the life span he had. So he sought for a solution in scriptures and got to know that there was an island named Elrix in the Center world and in it there is a lake called Immortal. One drop from the lake could make anyone immortal until they killed themselves and the water was blue in colour and tasted as sweet as honey.
Anthony with the help of scholars in his kingdom got a map to reach the place. Arian was given the complete rule and Anthony along with hundred men stared sailing. Arian and the priests requested to stop the pursuit as it is against the laws of nature for anyone to be immortal. They also pointed out the fact that previously two kings never returned after travelling but the more they pushed away the more Anthony thought he was getting near to his dream.
Anthony and his men sailed in the Sea of Nightmares. All along with their sailing, no one could sleep as if they would sleep they would dream of their worst fear killing them. For about fourteen days sailing continued and on the fifteen-day all the men in the ship started sleeping. For some reason, they could not control their sleep.
That night a big octopus called The Guardrail broke both the ships. While men woke up falling into the sea. Sharks feasted on them. Next morning Anthony woke up seeing the sunrise and he was lying at the coast of Elrix. He could see that only fifteen men were along with him.
Long before Anthony started his journey priests said to him that to reach the lake there would be different quest’s. The first one being the Guardrail and the sharks only kill the people who aren’t blessed by God Vuio to set forth on the island of Elrix.
Anthony thanked God Vuio for blessing him and he looked forward to seeing the Golden Gate of Sky which was built by twenty Goblin’s on the request from God Vuio and it is so high that it touched the Sky. Anthony and the others walked near to the gate and saw text written on it saying that Sing or make anything sing a song that shall impress God Vuio and I shall open myself.
Anthony and his crew were in no position to sing and even if they did they knew for sure that the gate would never open. Anthony could see parrots on the nearby tree. Anthony requested them to sing while they asked what is in for then in return? Anthony promised that when he returns back he shall take the parrot to his kingdom and give it the comfort that it has never seen in its lifetime.
Convinced with the offer the parrot sang “Once there lived a king who was young and charming. Blessed was he with fortune and kingdom but the desire did not stop him. He wanted more and more until there was nothing. One day he knew about an immortal lake and when he tasted it he never returned as darkness was lured in the trap of rightfulness” on completing the gates opened. Anthony thanked the parrot and walked in. As soon as they entered poisonous got hold of all those soldiers legs who had the negative desire of using the immorality. Anthony knowing the fact never thought anything about the wars he wanted to fight with his blessing which was just two steps away.
After passing the creepers Anthony was left with last five members. They were all near the lake and beside the lake, it was written people who want to drink the water should use a bone glass to carry the water. Now Antony took off his armour bent it in the form of the bowl and dipped it and as soon as it was in the water it melted.
Antony within no time saw his soldiers pulling out their swords. They started attacking one another and Anthony being the best amongst all killed every last man and pulled out a skull and dipped it in.
When he tasted the water it was both cold and sweet as described. Nothing tasted more wonderful and Antony regained the energy that he lost since the last fortnight and felt very strong. He shouted I will conquer the whole world and when he turned back to walk out the golden gates closed.
He heard the parrot say “My King you are finally immortal but I am afraid you have to stay inside all lifetime.”
Anthony turned back and there was no lake nor creepers all he could see is a sword and two dead kings who travelled like him a long time before.
